Day 2-7
Bieszczady Mountains
We will go cycling, walking and hiking, do some sightseeing tours to the local historical places. We will take a narrow gauge train trip and visit the open air museum in Sanok. There will also be two regional cuisine evenings with live performance of folk music!
Bieszczady is a mountain range where three countries – Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine meet. It used to be full of vivre, but after the change of borders in 1945, this has become one of the wildest parts of Poland with very few inhabitants, but lots of wildlife instead. The most beautiful part of the mountain range has been turned to Bieszczady National Park and it now belongs to the Eastern Carpathian UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Besides mountains other tourist attractions are a narrow gauge railway, Solina artificial lake and many historical orthodox wooden churches.

Local wildlife includes the European Bison, brown bear, lynx, wildcat, wolf, Ural owl, and golden eagle. Reptiles may be encountered on the trails, including vipers.
Day 7
Transfer to Lviv, Ukraine, sightseeing.
Evening in the Lviv Opera House

Lviv is the biggest city in Western Ukraine and was founded in the mid-13th century. Because of its location right in the heart of Europe, it soon became the center of trade and commerce – this is where major trade routes from the Black and Baltic Sea ports, East and Western Europe met. Due to its geographical location the city was a home to Poles, Ukrainians, Jews, Austrians, as well as Armenians, Hungarians, Greeks, Italians, Serbs and Moldavians. All of them together had introduced a wide variety of traditions, cultures, religions and a mix of architecture. Lviv was a Polish city from the 14th until 20th century but after WWII it has been annexed to USSR. Since 1991 Ukraine has been an independent country with Lviv as one of the biggest metropolises. The stormy history of this city has left marks on its architecture, but many renaissance and baroque and Art Deco buildings have still remained.
Day 8
Departure from the Lviv airport.
The tour begins at the Rzeszow railway station, ends at the Lviv airport, early afternoon.
